There are customers with a lot of power of imagination. He chose this petite commode to be restored for his living room – a real case of hardship… Not all original pieces of furniture survive over the decades in a reasonable condition. Of course we accepted the challenge! We took the chance to show our restoration process to you in a step by step fashion. A small insight into the art of hand made craftsmanship – and why everything is relative!

Structual damages, mold, a broken foot, loose veneer parts and of course a woodworm. This small single piece has definitly seen better times. Just the beautiful walnut front with its unique grain is reminiscent of the glorious 1920s. After a week of planning and countless working hours here the result of the transformation. Our completly restored commode:
We think it´s a great job by our joiners in Senden, Germany! The unique walnut veneer was high gloss polished by hand and the typical, symmetric Art Deco Design was refined with fine chrome elements and piano lacquer. Additionally we added some luxurious chrome handles to create a completly new piece of furniture. What do you think of it? Do you want to have your own piece restored?
